Project Scope: In 2021 Cavern was approach by Blue Bottle to make a bespoke scent for their brand. The easy approach to this would have been to make a scent that can be burned in candle form that smells like coffee. Our approach to any product has never been that direct so Derek, Cavern's founder set off to make a scent that felt as though you were picking the finest coffee beans to be roasted in a dew covered field of coffee plants. The resulting product was The Origin candle and a product that was developed for internal gifting within the Blue Bottle offices to a product that would eventually be sold in all of the Blue Bottle global locations with large production runs produced yearly.
Throughout the process we worked with Blue Bottle on packaging and design for the product with majority of the packaging technical work being done by us and the creative more on a collaborative level.
Original packing artwork was done by Cody Hudson and was later discontinued and replaced by a more clean packaging option for worldwide distribution.
